This is why I think you should send me one of these Abraham Lincoln jerseys…

Comments: To Whom It May Concern,

I recently became aware of the Abraham Lincoln jerseys that your team will be sporting in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address. I applaud your decision to recognize this great and historic event in American history.

I am also aware that you are auctioning these jerseys off after the game, but I am a poor 25 year old and my cubicle job does not pay enough for me to bid on novelty hockey jerseys. This is why I think you should send me one of these jerseys. We’ll call it an early Christmas gift.

Here is a list of reasons why this should happen:

1. I have a borderline obsession with Abraham Lincoln. Seriously.
2. Love America. Burgers, freedom, and world domination. What’s not to love?
3. Love hockey and look great in a hockey jersey.

So let me know if you agree, and I’ll send over my address.

PS. Nice touch with the top hat on the condor. It’s all in the details.

Best,
Sarah

Reply: Thanks Sarah… nice effort.

My humble opinion is that you, as an America-loving American, would hold a much deeper appreciation for a jersey that you worked hard to earn the money to purchase.

To that end, here is the link to purchase a merchandise version of the jersey, which your wallet will probably find much more palatable than a game-worn jersey from the auction.

Additionally, the jerseys will be auctioned off to raise money for BARC, and I don’t think you want to take cash out of their pocket.

Also, I’m not sure you are aware, but if you come to the game on Sunday, you, along with everyone else, has the chance to win one of the game-issued player jerseys for FREE. That’s right, FREE. In fact, with the Coat Drive also on Sunday, I submit that if you just bring one of those coats in your closet you don’t wear anymore to the game to donate, and get in for just $1. So, to recap, get in for $1 and win a FREE jersey.

Hope to see you there!
