GAME PREVIEW presented by Rodriguez & Associates

The Condors play game two of a three-game road trip.

LAST TIME OUT

San Jose won the seventh of eight season meetings between the two sides, 5-1 last night. Noah Philp scored the Condors lone goal and had a fight.

BIG PICTURE

The Condors are 18-10-3 (.629) in their last 31 games.

NOAH NEEDLED ONE

Philp’s goal last night was his 16th of the season for the rookie from Canmore, Alberta. Cooper Marody’s 19 in 2018-19 is the most by a Condors rookie in one season.

33 IN 33

Raphael Lavoie has 33 points (18g-15a) in 33 games in 2023. His 18 goals are third in the AHL during that span.

PLAYOFFS? PLAYOFFS?!

With 10 games left in the regular season, the Condors sit in sixth in the Pacific Division. Bakersfield begins the day five points back of fifth place Ontario, but they have a game in hand on the Reign. Abbotsford and Colorado are tied on points for third in the division, but the Eagles have a game in hand.

The Condors magic number to clinch a playoff berth is 14. That number goes down with points gained by the Condors or lost by San Jose.

HOME COOKIN’

The Condors have won four straight at home and are 12-2-2 in their last 16 home games. The team will play six of their final eight games at home.

SCENE SETTING WITH SAN JOSE

A matinee Sunday closes out the Condors season series with San Jose. Seth Griffith has nine points in seven games against the Barracuda this season. Bakersfield is 3-4-0 on the year against SJ.

CARL … GOOD TO SEE YOU

Carl Berglund made his professional debut last night for the Condors. He was the 39th different player used this season by the team.

ON THE OTHER SIDE

Nathan Burke, playing in just his second pro game, scored twice and had three points in the 5-1 win. It helped San Jose keep pace as Tucson won 7-1 in Colorado to continue to hold the final playoff spot by three points over the Barracuda.

WHAT’S NEXT?

The Condors wrap up the weekend in San Jose at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
