Condors bring in Milnamow & Magnowski

Bakersfield, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors, host of the 2010-11 ECHL All-Star Classic and ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, announced today three separate transactions that bring two new players in to Condorstown. D Brendan Milnamow was acquired from Idaho for future considerations, while C/LW Mark Magnowski was signed. In addition, D Antonin Manavian was released.

Milnamow, 24, is in his second professional season and has appeared in just one game after suffering an injury on Opening Night. The Wilton, Conn., native totaled 28 points (3g-25a) with the Steelheads in his rookie season in 2009-10, and skated for the National Conference in the ECHL All-Star Classic. He did not miss a single game last season, and added 15 playoff games, reaching the Kelly Cup Finals with Idaho. Milnamow appeared in five games with the Steelheads in 2008-09, after wrapping up his senior season at Union College that saw him record 9g-9a-18pts. In his four seasons at the Schenectady, NY, university he recorded 16g-27a-40pts.

Magnowski, 24, enters his rookie season, after starting the campaign in training camp with the Elmira Jackals. The Winnipeg, Man., native skated in two games last season with Victoria after wrapping up his collegiate career at Princeton University. While at the Ivy League school, Magnowski posted 39 goals and 87 points in four seasons.

Manavian had one goal in seven contests with the Condors.

What Marty says:

“We have acquired a defenseman who is an all-star in the ECHL. He plays with passion and can join the attack. He’s exactly what we needed right now – a defenseman with size and heart. Magnowski played for Princeton and we know he’s a very smart player. He brings us speed and offensive ability and he can play center or wing, so he also adds depth to our lineup.”
