Condors fall to Bulls, 5-3

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors (1-3-0-0, 2pts) dropped the opener of a weekend series against the San Francisco Bulls (2-1-0-1, 5pts), 5-3 at Rabobank Arena Friday night at Rabobank Arena.
Highlights from the game

Battling for the third time in eight days, the Bulls and Condors nearly skated to a scoreless tie in the opening period. But C Justin Bowers put the Bulls on the board at 17:01 to make it 1-0. Not to be outdone, Condors C Levi Nelson chipped in his third of the season with just 46 seconds remaining to tie it up 1-1.

San Francisco pulled back in front with C Dean Oullet potting his third of the season on a breakaway at 11:36. Bakersfield had three opportunities on the power play in the second half of the frame, but couldn’t convert, as the Bulls held onto the lead. The Condors held a shot advantage through 40 minutes, 25-19.
C Parker Stanfield scored 58 seconds into the third period to tie it up 2-2, but the Bulls rattled off three of the next four tallies to take the win. F Jordan Morrison scored twice in the third, while Oullet added his second of the game for San Fran. F Brett Perlini notched his second of the season as well for the Condors.

Condors droppings: The Condors took only two penalties the entire game, one being a first period fight for D Tyson Gimblett and SF D Scott Langdon… Bakersfield will play four of their first five games this season against the Bulls, wrapping up the weekend series Saturday… Shots on goal: BAK – 35, SF – 29… Power plays: BAK – 0/4, SF – 0/1… Three Stars: #1 Oullet (SF), #2 Nelson (BAK), #3 Bowers (SF).

Star Wars Night and Magnet Schedules Saturday night
The Bulls and Condors battle again Saturday night, as characters from the Star Wars films will be in the house to meet fans and pose for pictures in the Condors Photo Booth. In addition, everyone will receive a Condors Magnet Schedule, sponsored by Fastrip. Before Saturday’s game, the Bakersfield Downtown Business Association will host a Party on the Plaza, starting at 4 p.m., featuring food and drinks, games, sponsor booths and more. After the game Saturday, all Season Ticket Holders are welcome to stick around for a Meet the Team Party.
