ELLIS NAMED CCM/AHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – Bakersfield Condors goaltender Nick Ellis has been named CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 22, 2017. Ellis stopped 67 of 68 shots as the Condors swept Ontario on the road on Friday and Saturday.

  • Is 2-1-0 with a 1.35 goals-against average and a .956 save percentage; his GAA and save percentage are both sixth in the AHL
  • Second-year netminder recorded his second career shutout on Friday, stopping all 32 shots in a 2-0 win
  • Followed up Friday’s shutout with a 35-save performance on Saturday, only surrendering an extra attacker goal in a 3-1 win
  • The goal snapped a 125:51 shutout streak
  • He was 16-12-2 with a 2.69 GAA and a .918 save percentage last season as a rookie
  • Ellis will be presented with an etched crystal prior to an upcoming Condors home game
  • He is the third Condors player to receive an AHL Player of the Week award joining Taylor Beck (Nov. 6, 2016) and Anton Lander (Feb. 26, 2017)
