Four games at home, four huge promotions in Condorstown

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. –The Bakersfield Condors return to the Mercy and Memorial Hospitals Home Ice at Rabobank Arena with four games on the docket this week. The team hosts Idaho on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday before waking up early to take on the Stockton Thunder a week from today at 10:30 a.m. It’s a jam-packed week of hockey action in Bakersfield that you won’t want to miss!

Thursday’s game is the annual Project Warm Families Coat Collection presented by 98.5 The Fox and Goodwill Industries. Anyone who brings a new or gently used coat for donation can receive a terrace level ticket to the game for just $1. It’s the perfect opportunity to help families in need as the weather gets a little chillier around Condorstown! Over 22,000 coats have been donated since its inception 13 years ago. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the puck drop at 7 p.m.

11/11/11 is the date, and Rabobank Arena is the place to be this Friday as the Condors and Steelheads meet for the second consecutive night. If Bakersfield scores with 11:11 showing on the clock in any period, then one lucky fan will win $11,111.11 presented by Aviator Casino. The chances to win do not stop there as Bright House Networks and 101.5 KGFM present Yo Gabba Gabba Ticket Giveaway. Eleven lucky fans will win tickets to see Nick Jr’s Yo Gabba Gabba when they appear at Rabobank Theater later this month. It’s also a Bright House Networks Family Night where subscribers will receive $7 terrace level tickets per person by presenting their cable bill. There are plenty of chances to win some great prizes and cash, but you can’t win if you’re not at the game! Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the puck drops at 7 p.m.
Saturday night, the thir9/11 Jerseyd straight game against Idaho, the Condors will pay respect and honor veterans and all military personnel with a special 9/11-SEAL Team 6 Jersey Off Our Backs Raffle and Auction presented by ABC 23, KUZZ 107.9 FM, and American Business Machines. The specialty jerseys that the Condors will wear are to be auctioned off to benefit the Wounded Heroes Fund. Anyone in attendance has a chance to win one of five jerseys which will be given away at the game. The game also serves as Military Appreciation Night with all military personnel and veterans along with their families receiving free admission to the game simply by presenting your military ID at the box office.

Veterans from various wars will be on hand to drop the ceremonial first puck. During the first intermission, the United States Army will conduct an official swearing in ceremony of new recruits. Also, Bakersfield’s own Jeremy Staat, who played in the NFL and served in the Marines, will be on hand to speak to the crowd prior to the jersey auction. You won’t want to miss his inspirational story from his journey in the NFL to his experiences in Iraq in service of his country.

Those in the Kids Club will receive free lower level admission to Saturday’s game courtesy of Bright House Networks and Wells Fargo. For more information on the Kids Club, click here. Membership is only $10 and includes admission to five Condors games, a t-shirt, ID badge, and more! Students who achieved outstanding attendance levels as part of the Condors Classroom Champions program sponsored by ABC 23, SC Architect, and Kern County Firefighters, will receive a complimentary ticket to Saturday’s game as well. The fun starts at 5:30 p.m. when the doors open with game time set for 7 p.m.

Plus, coming next week, it’ll be an early call time on Tuesday when the Condors meet the rival Stockton Thunder at 10:30 a.m. on Businesspersons Special/Field Trip Day game presented by HOT 94.1. The special start time enables students to enjoy a field trip with educational handouts and other in-game activities geared towards learning. After the games this weekend, stop by the Bakersfield Marriott at the Convention Center Autograph Booth, located at the north end of the concourse in the arena. Alain Goulet and Parker Stanfield will sign after Thursday’s game while Michael Gergen and Dan Lawson are slated for Friday’s. Following Saturday, fans will have a chance to get Matt Marquardt and Peter Boyd’s autographs.

Saturday’s game and next Tuesday’s matinee will be televised live on Bright House Networks, digital channel 10, and also will be archived on Bakersfield On Demand, channel 300. Tuesday’s Field Trip Day game will also be replayed on channel 10 at 7 p.m. that night for those that made it to the game and want to watch the exciting action again!
