3. VEGAS EXPANSION DRAFT SET FOR NEXT WEEK 

  • For the first time since 2000, the NHL will hold an expansion draft on Wednesday, June 21 for the newest franchise in Vegas
  • On Sunday, all current NHL teams will submit a list of “protected” players with Vegas free to select an eligible player who is left unprotected; for further breakdown click here

  • Speaking of the Stanley Cup Final, the Pittsburgh Penguins won their second consecutive Stanley Cup last night in Game 6 over Nashville
  • Grand Rapids can capture their second Calder Cup in five seasons; they lead Syracuse 3 games to 2 with Game 6 in West Michigan on Tuesday
