Bakersfield, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors have announced that they will return on the air this season to Fox Sports Radio 970 AM. This marks the second season the Condors and Fox Sports fox sports 970Radio 970 are teaming up. Each broadcast will include Condors Countdown, starting 15 minutes prior to game time, and the Condors post-game report, after each game’s conclusion, wrapping up the game with highlights, Condors notes from the night and phone calls from fans after home games. “Condors Insider” will air on Thursday nights, from 6 – 7 p.m. during the season as well.

New this season, fans in the eastern portion of Kern County will also be able to pick up select Condors broadcasts, through a Game of the Week that will be carried on Clear Channel’s Fox Sports 610 AM, out of Lancaster. The games to be carried will be announced soon, but it means that for the first time, fans in the Antelope Valley and beyond, including Lancaster, Edwards AFB, Barstow, Rosamond, Mojave and surrounding areas, will be able to hear Condors action over the airwaves.

Kevin Bartl, who is entering his ninth season with the team, and newcomer Ryan Holt, will deliver the play-by-play. Holt, 23, comes to the Condors from the Corpus Christi IceRays of the NAHL, where he spent last season as the Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting. The Boston native graduated from Holy Cross in 2010, and also spent a season with the Worcester Sharks in the AHL.

“We received a tremendous amount of feedback that fans wanted ALL of our games on the radio, and we’re excited to say they will be,” explained Condors President Matthew Riley, as last season about ¾ of the games were aired live. “We love having the IHeartRadio app bring the games to fans in the arena as well, and it’s perfect to listen to all the games when you’re traveling out of town or live just outside the broadcast area.”

“We’re excited to again partner with the Condors for our on-air lineup on Fox Sports 970,” said Fox Sports 970 Operations Manager Kenn McCloud. “Condors Hockey sounds great on the air and live online on the website.  And Condors fans will be able to hear every game no matter where they are in the world with their smartphone via the new and improved free IHeartRadio app, which debuts September 23rd.”
