Condors Weekly: Smokin’ hot Condors roll into the New Year

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors posted a perfect 2-0 record last week, giving them an 8-3-0-0 record over their last 11 games. They currently sit in 7th place in the Western Conference with an 11-15-0-1 record and 23 points in the standings.

They will hit the road for the next four, including games in Las Vegas (Wednesday) and Colorado (Friday, Saturday) this week. The Condors do not return to home ice until Jan. 11 against Las Vegas.

Last Week: 2-0
The week started with a 4-3 win over Las Vegas Thursday night, in which four different players scored and the team raced out to a 3-0 lead.
On Sunday afternoon they also took a 3-0 lead, with C Joel Broda and RW Jordan Knackstedt each posting 1g-1a, but this time G Laurent Brossoit made it stand with his fourth shutout of the season.
NOTES:
  • The Condors offense has scored four or more goals in eight of their last 11 games.
  • G Laurent Brossoit has made six starts in the ECHL this season and has posted four shutouts. Although he leads the ECHL in shutouts, ironically he has not played enough minutes for his 0.82 GAA and a .963 save percentage to count as leading the league.
  • C Joel Broda has 18 points (8g-10a) in the last 11 games.
  • The Condors penalty kill has climbed to 6th in the ECHL at 87.1%
  • Bakersfield allows just 26 shots per game, second-lowest in the league.
  • Yesterday’s 3-0 win was the first time since Nov. 26 the Condors failed to score at least four goals on home ice.
  • The team’s 5-game home winning streak is the longest since 2010-11.
