There is a certain fire drill-esque aspect to the final few weeks before Opening Night. But, as we like to reassure ourselves “we’ll drop a puck, there will be a game, and people will be happy.” Or maybe it’s just me having my annual nightmare that I forget how to set up my radio gear on a game night. But I digress.

You may think I’m crazy for stressing that much, but as I’ll remind you, it’s my blog and I’ll do what I want.

Now for the blog…

Headshots are being taken in Edmonton and Stuey’s ‘stache is already ready the regular season.

If you’re a Condors365 Member, keep October 12 evening open. We’ll have more info, but it’ll be your chance to meet this year’s squad for the first time. I overheard taco bar, and to be quite honest, didn’t pay too much attention after that, because, I mean, tacos.

Joked with Colin Chaulk that you can’t win every game of the year if you don’t start in Penticton and whaddya know, the rookies went 3-0 against the Flames, Jets, and Canucks. Good for the staff to get used to working together while evaluating some players who may play for the team.

Ice goes in this weekend. We’ll have you covered for all things paint drying and ice melting.

Our first “Condors Connection” with Erik Fox from Energy 95.3 was earlier today. A little more in depth look on the hockey side of things. You can watch it by clicking here.

What’s going on for other promotions this season Holty? Well we know The Big 6. The finishing touches are being placed on the rest. Throughout the year though, weekend games will feature “alumni” nights where we pay tribute to various alums. They’ll drop the puck, we’ll have interviews, and be able to look back at some of the best to come through Condorstown.

Naturally one of those we’ll honor is Paul Willett. He and his Bakersfield Roughnecks team have their first ever home game tomorrow night at 7:30 next door at the Ice Sports Center. Word is I’m doing the PA for the game, so I’ll do my best Mike Hart impersonation.

Until next time Condorstown…
