HOLTY’S BLOG: ON THE BUS

Holty here and we’re coming to you LIVE FROM THE 5 as the Condors head south to “America’s Finest City.”

It’s easy to hate San Diego the team, but hard to say anything bad about the city. And as I’ll remind you, it’s my blog and I’ll do what I want…

Now for the blog.

The Evander Kane injury was certainly scary. Thankfully, it seems like he’ll make a recovery, but 3-4 months means some deck chair rearranging. Mattias Janmark and Klim Kostin went up to the Oilers yesterday with both deserving of the opportunity. The Condors are expected to get Justin Bailey back next week from his shoulder surgery, plus Philip Broberg and Yanni Kaldis should return this weekend.

We will honor the 75th Anniversary of the US Air Force on Saturday with specialty jerseys. There is no shortage of items, jerseys, and more you can win in the Condors raffle and auction hub. Items include a Bourgault signed stick, a Skinner jersey raffle, and for the first time ever a “Customize Your Own” specialty jersey. Click here to get your bids and raffle tickets in.

It was great to chat with Kevin Truelson last week as part of our ongoing Mission Bank Memory series. Below is his full interview. This Saturday, one of the original Condors, Brian McCarthy will drop the first puck and we’ll have a video memory with him. It has been really fun connecting with so many alums already to hear their stories of Condorstown.

Congrats to former Condors goaltender Dylan Wells on making his NHL debut with Chicago this week.

It will be a pretty telling six-game homestand upcoming for the Condors who will welcome Ontario, Colorado, and Calgary as part of the homestand. Calgary and Colorado have combined to win their last six games and Ontario only has two losses this season.

The post-game Cowboy Hat for the player of the game is taking on life and it’s great to see. Friday, Ollie Rodrigue got it from Calvin Pickard and then in Henderson, Phil Kemp got it for his two-goal game in Henderson. As always, we have you covered Behind Closed Dors with the best access in the league…

One final note that the team made calls to Condors365 Members this week to wish them a Happy Thanksgiving. If you didn’t get one, you’ll get one over Christmas. But, the captains along with Calvin Pickard made them the other day showing that they lead from the front. I thought it was a great sign that the leadership group wanted to reach out to people.

Until next time Condorstown…
