Tonight’s match up:

The Condors and Steelheads meet for the fourth time in the last nine days tonight, with Bakersfield riding a four-game winning streak. Dating back to the final games of the 2009-10 season, Bakersfield vs idahohas won five consecutive games against their rivals from Boise, bringing their all-time mark to 41-53-10. The Steelheads first season was 1997-98, the final year of the Bakersfield Fog, and only the Alaska Aces, as well as the defunct San Diego Gulls and Fresno Falcons, have been the Condors opponent more times.

Condors misc:
The Condors have won ten of their last eleven games dating back to a 5-3 win over the Stockton Thunder on Dec. 10. That stretch includes four wins in a row, and five consecutive wins on home ice… Last night Bakersfield allowed exactly two goals for the first time all season… C Pete Zingoni’s five-point night was the most by a Condor since RW Stephane Goulet notched six points (2g-4a) on Valentine’s Day last season… RW Brad Snetsinger leads the Condors and ranks tied for 18th in the ECHL with 29 points… Three of the top four in the league in shooting percentage are Condors, led by RW Pascal Morency (31.0%). Bobby Robins is 2nd, C Rylan Kaip is 4th and coincidentally, former Condors (current Reading Royals) C Matt Caruana ranks 3rd.

Tordjman heads to the AHL
G Josh Tordjman, who has surrendered two or less goals in six of his last eight starts, has been recalled by the Houston Aeros today. Josh TordjmanTordjman recently won back-to-back ECHL Goalie of the Week awards and was the Kern Trophies Condor of the Month for December. He ranks in the top five in the ECHL in wins, saves, save pct., and minutes. G Brian Stewart, recently reassigned by the Philadelphia Flyers from their AHL affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms, will make his Condors debut tonight. Stewart is a rookie from Northern Michigan University who had won his previous four starts in the AHL prior to his assignment, which came about due to a plethora of healthy goaltenders throughout the Flyers organization.

Transactions:
G Josh Tordjman was recalled by Houston (AHL) today… G Brian Stewart was assigned to the Condors from Adirondack (AHL) Friday… F Jean-Marc Beaudoin was transferred from the 3-day IR to the 7-day IR Friday and is eligible to be activated Jan. 12… G Peter Hirsch was placed on the 3-day IR Friday… C Pete Zingoni and RW Pascal Morency were assigned to the Condors from Houston (AHL) on Tuesday… C Rylan Kaip was transferred to the 21-day IR retroactive to Dec. 23…D Joey Ryan remains on the 21-day IR. He is eligible to be activated on Jan. 10.
