Kyle Calder joins the Condors
Veteran of nearly 600 NHL games will skate tonight

Bakersfield, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors, host of the 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic and ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, have announced the signing of F Kyle Calder. The announcement was made by Head Coach Marty Raymond.

Calder, 31, returns to the team he helped guide to the second round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs last season, where he led the Condors with calder10 points (5g-5a) in 10 postseason matches. Calder also played five games with the Condors in the regular season, posting six points (3g-3a) while on assignment from the Anaheim Ducks.

The Mannville, Alberta native has appeared in 590 National Hockey League games with Anaheim, Los Angeles, Detroit, Philadelphia and Chicago, who made him their fifth round selection in 1997 after a junior career in the Western Hockey League. Calder has 294 points (114g-180a) to his NHL credit. He has also tallied 57 points in 77 career AHL games, and represented his homeland four times in international play, with three World Championships and one World Junior Championship.

The Condors are currently in Cincinnati wrapping up a four-game road trip against the Cyclones. Game time is 4:30 p.m. (Pacific) and can be heard live on Fox Sports Radio 970 AM.
