The Bakersfield Condors announced today that the team has agreed to terms with six players on one-year, two-way American Hockey League contracts for the 2026-27 season.

Signed to AHL contracts:

• F Ethan Keppen
• F Simon Tassy
• F Hunter Johannes
• F Josh Davies
• D John Gormley
• D Zach Bookman

Keppen, 25, had six points (2g-4a) in 44 games with the Condors a season ago. He has 127 games of AHL experience with 25 points (14g-11a). The Ontario native was originally drafted in the fourth round of the 2019 NHL Draft by Vancouver.

Tassy, 25, turns professional after a four-year collegiate career split between the University of Wisconsin and Minnesota State. He joined the Condors late last season on a tryout agreement, but did not appear in any games. Last season with Wisconsin he was third on the team with 14 goals, helping the Badgers to the NCAA Frozen Four title game.

Johannes, 28, had 25 points (12g-13a) in 30 games with Reading of the ECHL last season. He spent much of the 2024-25 season with Grand Rapids, playing in 51 games for the Griffins.

Davies, 22, begins his third professional season after splitting time between the AHL and ECHL the past two seasons. Originally a sixth round selection in the 2022 NHL Draft by Florida, Davies had 12 points (8g-4a) in 31 games with Savannah and a goal in 15 games with Milwaukee last season.

Gormley, 25, enters his second full professional season. He split last season between San Jose (AHL) and Wichita (ECHL). With the latter he had four points (2g-2a) in 29 games on the blue line. The 6’4”, 225 lbs. d-man is a New York native.

Bookman, 24, played 140 games collegiately between Merrimack College and Western Michigan University where he totaled 16 goals and 63 assists for 79 points as a d-man. Prior to college he was named the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s (AJHL) Most Outstanding Defenseman, setting a league record with 102 points (21g-81a) in just 55 games.
