Quick Change, Spider-man and Shower Curtains highlight four-game week

Bakersfield, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, return home to the Mercy and Memorial Hospitals Home Ice at Rabobank Arena this week with four home games, including three-in-three this weekend against the Ontario Reign. Tuesday, Friday and Saturday’s games each start at 7 p.m., while Sunday’s contest starts at 6 p.m. Doors open one hour before game time.

Tuesday, Feb. 15
The week starts off against the Victoria Salmon Kings on Tuesday night for High School/College I.D. Night. All high school and college students can purchase a lower level ticket for just $1 by quick changepresenting their student I.D. at the box office.

Friday, Feb. 18
Condorstown welcomes the return of Quick Change, sponsored by Bright House Networks and KERN Newstalk 1180. The magic act has wowed the Condors crowd each of the last two seasons, following up their appearance as finalists on the show “America’s Got Talent,” with their rapid clothes-changing act that has to be seen to be believed. Also on Friday night, the first 3,000 fans at the game will get Condors Trading Card Set #3, featuring C Slava Trukhno, D J.F. David, D Erik Burgdoerfer, C Joel Broda, G Brian Stewart and LW J.D. Corbin. There will be five trading card giveaways on the season to complete your set. If you missed out on any of the previous set giveaways, they are available for sale at the Condors merchandise stands.

It’s also a Bright House Networks Family Night, allowing subscribers to purchase $7 tickets by presenting the coupon available in their cable bill or their bill envelope itself. The Condors T.H.I.N.K. Program (Turning Hockey Into New Knowledge) will welcome students from several local participating schools as well on Friday. The students earned Condors tickets for their work in the classroom, and one lucky student will be entered in a drawing at the end of the season to win a free computer. Saturday, Feb. 19
This game is your chance to meet Spider-man, appearing courtesy of My 45 and 92.5 La Campesina. Spidey takes a break from spider-mancrime-fighting to hang out with fans pre-game and during intermissions in the Condors Photo Booth and to drop the ceremonial first puck.

Saturday’s game is also a Condors Kids Club Night, in which all members receive a free ticket to the game. The Kids Club is sponsored by Bright House Networks, Bakersfield Californian and Wells Fargo and includes tickets to select games, prizes, admission to the Kids Zone at home games and more. Also on Saturday, two schools will be rewarded in their hard work using Condors hockey as a fundraiser. Discovery Elementary earned enough to take the ice before the game for a game of broomball. During the first intermission, Bakersfield High School will also have a broomball battle, and they will also be featured in a check presentation for their huge fundraising success. Those two schools were able to sell Condors tickets and keep a portion of the proceeds for their fundraising efforts – BHS will donate their money to the Boys & Girls Club, for example. Sunday, Feb. 20
The Condors and Reign wrap up their weekend series with a 6 p.m. contest, and the first 2,000 households to the game will take home a Condors Shower Curtain, sponsored by Cal Water. The Condors continue their quest to dominate your bathroom – first came toilet paper giveaway four years ago, then Colonel Claw’d soap dispensers, then toilet plungers and now shower curtains!

Autograph Booth:
Following every home game, players will be available at the Bakersfield Marriott at the Convention Center Autograph Booth, located on the arena concourse behind section 108. The schedule for the week is: G Brian Stewart and D Tyler Gotto on Tuesday, RW Pascal Morency and D Eric Burgdoerfer on Friday, C Jean-Marc Beaudoin and C Joel Broda on Saturday, and G Josh Tordjman and D Joey Ryan on Sunday. Players will be available approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of each contest to greet fans and sign autographs.
