Condors win streak comes to an end in Utah, 4-1

Condors fall to Grizzlies 4-1
Head to Idaho to battle Steelheads on Friday and Saturday

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah The Bakersfield Condors (14-14-1-0, 29pts) had their six-game winning streak snapped at the hands of the first place Utah Grizzlies (17-9-3-1, 38pts) in front of 3,619 fans at Maverick Center on Wednesday Night.

The Condors got the start they wanted, when F Jean-Marc Beaudoin buried a one-timer off a pass from F Michael Gergen over the glove of G Andrew Engelage to put the Condors up 1-0 4:55 into the first period. Utah found an answer, when F Tim Crowder picked off a clearing pass from G Josh Tordjman and deposited it into the empty net. Tordjman stopped 16 shots in the first period.

F Tom May opened up the second period with a power play goal just 2:28 into the period. The 2-1 lead was increased to 3-1 when D Matt Sorteberg cleaned up a rebound and snapped it over a sprawling Tordjman. It was the second power play goal of the night for the Grizzlies.

Utah added one final goal in the third period, when F Brent Gauvreau found a rebound on the side of the net and picked up his third of the year. The Grizzlies finished with a 39 – 24 advantage in shots on goal.
